The Legend of Trapper Nelson | Ghosts of the Loxahatchee | Stories of the Supernatural

Vince "Trapper" Nelson was an intrepid and adventurous entrepreneur who carved out a campsite from the wilderness along the shores of the Loxahatchee River during the 1930s.

A colorful character, he was found dead in 1968 from a gunshot wound to the chest. It was ruled a suicide, but there are those that think that it was murder. Could this be the reason that Trapper Nelson's ghost is seen at his secluded campsite and in those areas of Jupiter he used to frequent? Known as the Wildman of the Loxahatchee no doubt he is still seeking justice for what was done to him on a hot, July day when he was killed and left to decompose for a week before he was found by a friend.
